Candy Lips...

This was one of the easiest and coolest looking pictures that I've taken in awhile.

Set up was simple: All I had to do was lick my lips, then press them into a sandwich bag of sprinkles. After making sure my lips were completely coated, I sat down in front of my Canon and shot away!

After I had taken a dozen or so pictures, I transferred them over to my computer for preview and editing. Editing was also very easy; I simply removed any discolored spot from my chin, got rid of a few distracting freckles, got rid of some blue that had been on my tongue from a melted sprinkle, and then adjusted the brightness to give it that overly sweet look.

I think this picture is the perfect example of how easy it can be to create something awesome. All in all, it probably took me a little over an hour to take and edit this photo. That's hardly any time at all, and the responses I got were all positive!

The best part of all this? Licking those sprinkles off and eating them. =]

Sketching and Drawing?

So I'm not really that good of a sketching/drawing artist. I still enjoy trying my hand at it, though. Here's a few pieces of my better work.

Unfinished torso of a man...

This is my take on the Mad Hatter. Creepy, really.

Of course, I have more drawings and such. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. My mother recently found folders upon folders that she'd kept, ones overflowing with my old artwork and stories. I was quite the odd child and drew literally hundreds of crazy images. I'd share them, but I wouldn't want to scare away any friends that I have. ;P

Here's a peak at what I've been up to for the past few weeks...

Questions

As I said in the last post, I would love for you guys to vote on my new poll. After you've done that, I would REALLY appreciate it if you could comment on this blog answering the few questions that I've written below. Please and thank you! =D

1. What's your favorite thing about this blog?

2. What's something you'd like to see more of?

3. What's something you'd like to see less of?

4. Whenever I explain photo shopping techniques, is it easy to understand or is it confusing?

5. Should I keep this blog strictly photography related, or would you like see more of my creations, such as animations, videos, sketches, etc.?

I really, REALLY suck at keeping up with this thing...

Here's the thing: I'm so busy taking pictures, that I don't have the time to post about it! That's just sort of ironic to me and needs to stop ASAP.

There's a few things on my mind that I want to talk about, so please continue reading and leave me some feedback.

1. New Ideas
2. New Poll
3. General Overall Newness

NUMBER 1- New Ideas: To those of you who don't know me well, I'm more than just a photographer. I'm also majorly into videos, sketching, customizing, and basically anything that can be made, I'm going to do it(or at least attempt to). I've decided that if people were interested, I would post on here about other stuff I've created. But, only if people are interested, which leads me to my next topic...

NUMBER 2- New Poll: I've got a new poll that I would very much like for you guys to vote on as honestly as you possibly can. I want to know what my readers(if any) are thinking. I want to know if there's anything I can do to improve this blog. For some reason, I'm very serious about this blog. I don't know why. Maybe I just like the fact that maybe some day, someone somewhere will find this page, see what all I'm capable of doing, and hire me for some super creative and exciting job. ;P

NUMBER 3- General Overall Newness: I feel as though most days, my creativity has flown the coop. I like to blame this dullness and lack of color that people call "Winter", but maybe it's just me. Sometimes I'm just like that. I'll have periods of time where nothing appeals to me, then suddenly I'm back in the game, brainstorming and hyper, trying to get those ideas out before I explode. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that if I post something that seems rather lame, it's because I'm having an off day(or maybe even week). Please don't hate on me too badly when that happens. It's just a phase that I will more than likely get over within a few days.

助けてください?

So, I need some help.

I took some pictures last night that turned out ok, but I really think they could be improved. The theme was Asian, and though they're ALMOST what I wanted, something is missing. Sure, I could have used a fan, and if I had had a better makeup job, that probably would have been helpful. I think it was mostly just ME that was the problem, though. I'm simply just not Asian enough.

Really though, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, by all means; Tell me! I'd love some more opinions and thoughts for whenever I take Asian pictures of my friend Tonya. She, unlike me, looks like an American-gone-Anime. She will ROCK this photoshoot, but only if I have some help with ideas. ;]

NEWNESS!

I've added a new page onto Nerd's The Word. You should check it out and leave me feedback, yo.

I Fail At Keeping up With Things...

I'm back! I could spin some story about how I've been on vacation in Morocco and how I wrestled with thieves, met a gypsy, and even pet a live tiger, but that would all be a lie. I've actually just been here, in my room, waiting for Winter to pass. I've basically lost all my inspiration for writing...until now.

1. New Studio!
2. New Camera!
3. New Ideas!

NUMBER 1-New Studio!: Um...yeah! For Christmas, I got an AMAZING studio kit, complete with professional lights, umbrellas, backdrops, and stands. It's quite grand and I've already used it countless times. It even came with a green screen backdrop, which can be used just like the green screens on movie sets. Not to brag or anything, but it's pretty kick butt.

NUMBER 2- New Camera!: HECK YEAH, BABY! I've got a brand spankin' new camera, and it. Is. WONDERFUL. Say hello to Abby, my Canon SX30 IS, complete with HD video, 35x optical zoom, and a macro like you wouldn't believe.

To anyone who asks, "What about Victoria? Have you just thrown her to the side?!" The answer would be this: Victoria(aka my previous Canon) is still in use. She will, for now, be my travel camera until I'm fully used to and comfortable handling my new camera. Since there's no way on Earth that I'm bringing Abby on trips to amusement parks or on hikes to a creek(darn those creeks. darn them!), Victoria will be my handy dandy spare.

NUMBER 3-New Ideas!: Seeing as I've got a camera that has HD video, I've started to work on an idea that I've had for a very long time; A music video. I've never made a good quality music video before, so I'm quite excited about this. It'll be awhile though before I'm done, but as I like to say, "Good things are worth waiting for".

I Hate Snow.

I really do. It's so blah, gray, depressing, and cold. If you're like me and live back in the woods, then the snow is even less pretty, thanks to all the sticks and leaves that ruin an otherwise smooth snowfall. I think what REALLY bothers me is the lack of color.

I love colors. I NEED colors. Colors to me is like music for someone else; I've got to have it. I can't stand blahness. It really puts me down in the dumps to see anything dull and without life. So, in honor of Spring and warmth, I'm going to post a few of my most favorite pictures from this past Spring. Enjoy!
